According to Grantham Institute 2024 was the first time global temperatures exceeded 1.5c above its pre-industrial level, making it the hottest year since records began.
Dr Neil Jennings who conducted the reserach said "If we fail to prepare , many vulnerable people will suffer from preventable deaths before the decade is out"
