Using the following calculation:

Watts of appliance X number of hours the appliance is on X cost of electricity per KWh we get the following calculations. These calculations are only estimates. To obtain a true calculation simply :

Obtain your appliance's power consumption by looking at its power rating on the information panel.

Look at your electricity bill to see how much you are charged per Kwh.

then see how long you use the particular appliance.

Example:

If a vacuum has a power rating of 1000 Watts or 1KW, it is used for 2 hours and the cost per KWh is £0.20 then the following is true:

1KW x 1 hour X £0.20 hence - 1x2x0.20=£0.40
